The ministry
From Hartbeespoort in the North West province, Bishop Mogodiri leads St Oaks Global Church of Christ with a plain conviction: spiritual authority is a trust, not a trading licence. In 2019 he took that conviction into the public square, laying criminal charges against a Johannesburg pastor over a staged “resurrection” — telling the press he had “seen too much pulpit greed and commercialisation going on in the church.”
He has since served as a presiding bishop and elder statesman at gatherings across the North West, including the Bokone Bophirima Gospel Music Awards, and continues to mentor younger pastors in accountable leadership.
“I have seen too much pulpit greed and commercialisation going on in the church.”
Bishop Elly Mogodiri, February 2019
